New features, improvements and fixes in skyto.
Better fare calendars and more reliable flight searches
- See reference fares on more dates in the fare calendar, with prices appearing as they load.
- When choosing a return date, compare round-trip totals for your selected departure and each return date. Returns in later months are also available.
- Flight searches can continue with the same dates and flights during temporary service interruptions.
- Gold Watch price checks are also more resilient to temporary interruptions.
Smoother globe controls and a better watchlist
- Globe dragging now keeps the grabbed point aligned with your finger or mouse. Dragging and zooming also continue smoothly over fare cards.
- Saved searches remain correctly marked and editable even with a large watchlist. The account page also shows the full saved count.
- Fixed oversized watch type controls and descriptions extending beyond the panel on desktop and mobile.
- Explore Skyto Flyers Gold benefits before signing in. The introduction now uses light sky colors and more breathing room.
- Gold Watch and other exclusive features now have a gold Skyto icon. Non-members can view benefits from the icon, then return without losing watch edits.
- App links now open the App Store and leave the web app in the original tab. If automatic opening is blocked, continue with the App Store button.
More flexible dates for your watchlist
- Choose no date restriction, exact dates, or a date range for each watch. For round trips, specify a period that includes the entire journey, from departure through arrival back home.
- Watch notification settings are now easier to manage. Switch notifications on or off while keeping your saved search conditions.
- Messages on the credits page now follow your selected display language.
- The privacy policy now explains how Skyto Flyers purchase information is handled and retained, and how to cancel a subscription.
Get an alert when a fare falls below your target
- Receive email or Web Push alerts when a newly received fare matches your watchlist and falls below your target price. Choose each notification method separately and pause alerts at any time.
- Open an alert to explore flights for its route and dates.
Save your search conditions to a watchlist
- Saved routes are now watchlists. Save and edit search conditions such as dates and airlines, set a target price, and return to your saved search. Your existing saved routes are carried over.
- Email, app and Web notifications are still being prepared. This update does not send notifications.
- Removed the decorative gradient from modal headings.
- When discovery filters exceed the screen width, they stay in one row and scroll horizontally. On phones, filters scroll to the screen edges with space before the first and after the last control.
- On narrow screens, skyto ai above the ticket is hidden while the price calendar is open. Travel guidance returns when the calendar closes. Its collapse button also stays clear of the globe controls when it reappears.
Destination tips and smoother trip discovery with Skyto AI
- Updated how travel tips and suggested topics follow your selected display language.
- Suggested topics now better reflect the place and the answer you are exploring.
- Selecting a destination brings up tips about its city and airport.
- On phones, tips appear compactly above the ticket; closing it restores the departure tips. Expanded tips can be collapsed using the top-right icon.
- Browser Back and Forward now step through the origins and destinations you selected with the random buttons.
Find inspiration for your next trip with Skyto AI
- Choose a departure point for two to five short Skyto AI tips about experiences in its city or airport. Tips use an airplane-icon list in your selected language, with the original guidance staying visible until the first answer arrives.
- Adjusted Skyto AI to prioritize responsive travel tips.
- Tips initially show up to two complete items. Tap “skyto ai” or swipe up on the title or text to read more without moving the bottom controls. On desktop, you can also scroll to expand or collapse. On phones, the expanded background reaches the right edge for easier reading.
- Added a little space above and below “skyto ai” and extended the expanded background to the bottom of the screen. The footer controls remain accessible.
- Short topics such as “Local food” appear below the tips. Tap a button to continue the same conversation, with text and buttons revealing and disappearing smoothly as the sheet opens and closes.
- Expand Skyto AI to see up to three photos related to your departure city below its tips. If photos are unavailable, the tips remain usable without an error message or empty photo space.
- If travel tips cannot be retrieved, you can try again. Switching accounts starts fresh tips without carrying over the previous user's guidance.
- When you change your departure point, language, or currency, Skyto AI starts preparing new tips without waiting for the previous guidance to finish. Earlier answers stay out of the new conversation.
- Fare loading now uses just the animated bar, with messages shown when fares could not be retrieved. The bar sits at the bottom edge in the compact icon layout and below the controls when Browse fares is a wide button, keeping guidance and controls steady as loading starts and finishes.
- The random selection sheet is slightly shorter, leaving more of the globe visible. Smaller button visuals, icons, and text give its contents more breathing room while keeping the tap targets easy to use.
- Random departures now use a split-flap animation while finding an airport with destinations matching your filters and preparing its Skyto AI tips before revealing the result. If preparation fails, another airport is drawn automatically.
- The departure and destination card now has the same pill shape on phones, tablets, and desktop.
- After you have explored Skyto on the web, an invitation to pre-order the mobile app appears during a quiet moment. It appears only once in the same browser. Use the right-arrow button to visit the App Store, or dismiss it and keep exploring.
Refined the mobile footer layout
- Grouped the two journey descriptions on the left with the action buttons at the lower right on mobile. Spacing between descriptions stays consistent regardless of button height.
Discover your next trip at random
- Added a random button to the left of Refresh. Choose an origin from searchable airports worldwide or a destination from your current results, with each airport equally likely to be selected.
- The random sheet keeps the globe undimmed and stays open after each roll. Selected destinations appear as tickets on the globe; on mobile, the ticket sits above the sheet.
- You can now rotate the globe and select fare cards while the random sheet stays open. Tapping the background keeps it open; use its close button to dismiss it.
- Fixed the random sheet changing height after rolls or while loading on mobile. Closing a destination ticket keeps the sheet open so you can choose again.
- Updated the share button with a curved, right-pointing arrow icon.
- Fixed globe zoom controls sitting too far inward at medium screen widths; they now stay at the right edge.
Find flights more easily from destination tickets
- Added “Book lowest” to destination tickets. Tap a ticket to find flights for the displayed dates.
- Added date fields below the fare calendar. Review or clear your dates, then move straight to flight selection once your dates are complete.
- Select an airport in the destination list to see its ticket on the globe. The globe turns smoothly to an upright view with the airport centered horizontally.
- On desktop, the destination list stays open after selection so you can keep exploring other airports. On mobile, it closes to reveal the ticket.
- Fare calendar notes now appear in a small popover when you tap the information icon beside the month and currency.
- Tap a destination ticket's photo to see its author, license and source in a small popover, keeping the photo clear by default.
- Added a little vertical spacing between destination details and actions while keeping them grouped together.
- Refined ticket spacing and smoothed the fare calendar’s closing animation.
- Added an updates page for new features and improvements.
- Grouped links and language selection in a menu on pages such as Terms and Privacy Policy. Your Japanese or English preference is shared with the app.
Language, currency and search improvements
- Choose Japanese or English and view fares in 14 currencies. Language and currency can be selected independently.
- If search results are unavailable, you can continue with available fare and booking information.
- If a selected flight quote expires, keep your dates and choose another flight.
Skyto is now available on the web
- Explore destinations and flights on a globe in the publicly available web app.
- Grouped the fare-list, refresh and share buttons on small phone screens to leave more room for the globe.
- Smoothed desktop panel transitions and fixed the globe briefly disappearing.
